To be able to get found online it is important to understand how search engines work.

Search engines have 2 main purposes; the first one is giving their users the right answers for their search queries by calculating relevancy and serving results. The second one is crawling and building an index.

Look at search engines as popularity contest. The more popular you site is the more valuable your information is and the better you will rank. Search engines determine your popularity by using algorithms which contain hundreds of components and equations. Once youve got relevant content and you are popular you will rank high.
